Entries for the 2019 Etape du Tour have sold out - less than eight hours after going on sale.

Entries went on sale at midday CET on Monday 29 October, but just a few hours later the organisers announced that all standard entries had already sold out:

The 2019 Etape takes place on 21st July and follows the route of Stage 20 of the Tour de France. Riders will start in Albertville and tackle a 135km parcours finishing with a climb to the ski resort of Val Thorens - the highest ever finish for an Etape du Tour at 2,365m.

15,000 places were on offer for the event, which is one of Europe's most popular sportives allowing amateur cyclists a chance to ride a stage of the Tour de France.

If you're still looking for a place, there are several options remaining:

- Book through a Tour Operator

- Book an official package including accommodation

- Ride to raise funds for the Etape's official charity, Macmillan Cancer Support.

If you're looking for a package deal, we are happy to recommend our friends at Sportive Breaks and All Things Ride.

Etapes du Tour with Le Loop

Alternatively, why not ride the Etape along with two or more stages from the Tour?

Each year Le Loop (formerly Tour de Force) offer fully supported packages allowing cyclists to ride 'Loops' of 2-10 stages of the Tour de France a couple of weeks ahead of the pros - you can even ride the full 21 stages, for the ultimate challenge!

Le Loop is run to raise funds for the William Wates Memorial Trust, a charity helping disadvantaged children to fulfil their potential through the arts, sports and education.

It's a great cause and we're massive fans of the project. For a taste of what to expect, find out how our reporter Ben got on this year when we sent him to ride three Alpine stages at zero notice:

Entries for Le Loop reopen this Friday 2 November. For more details and to book your place, visit rideleloop.org.

Entries for L'Etape du Tour are sold out - but there are still options for anyone looking to ride.
