Oban Sportive

The beauty of a challenge!

Whether you are a seasoned-pro or a keen amateur rider, the Oban Sportive is a beautiful challenge to take on. This year’s sportive includes 2 routes that both offer spectacular views, quiet, country roads and, of course, the odd challenging climb! Finshing either route brings with it a sense of achievement and a real treat of Scottish scenery.

The Challenge

Both routes offer some testing climbs as well as flatter sections and open roads. Taken at the beginning of the cycling season, the routes should not be under-estimated and riders are advised to prepare themselves thoroughly before taking on the challenge. Training guides for sportives are widely available (including at British Cycling and Wiggle) and we recommend following a training programme before taking on any sportive.
