Elitewheels have unveiled three new additions to its performance lineup: the Drive TT, Velo Six II, and Gnar XC.

The three new wheelsets are designed for time trial and triathlon and cross-country racers respectively (no prizes for gussing who the Gnar XC is aimed at).

As we've come to expect from Elitewheels, the new models are packed with high-end tech and features usually found on wheels costing much more.

Here's a brief roundup of the new wheels, all of which are available to order now at www.elite-wheels.com.

Drive TT Disc - Aero Meets Aggression

Elitewheels say the new Drive TT Disc is their most aerodynamic and performance-optimised time trial/triathlon wheel to date. The disc rear wheel is shaped to slice through the wind and save precious watts, with what Elitewheels describe as "sail effect" technology that allows the wheel to generate forward thrust at certain yaw angles.

Testing at the Silverstone Sports Engineering Hub Wind Tunnel showed the Drive TT needed just 76W power consumption at 45 km/h with -20° yaw angle.

The full carbon wheel weighs a claimed 955g ±50g, and features a wider internal rim width of 22mm while reducing the rim profile for reduced air resistance.

The hub system includes premium Enduro bearings and an upgraded 50T tapered ratchet (7.2° engagement angle) for lightning-fast responsiveness. An angled ratchet tooth design ensures self-alignment, enhancing stability and reducing wear over time, say Elitewheels.

Velo Six II - A Classic Reimagined

The Velo Six II is said to be nearly twice as stiff laterally as the previous model.

Sticking with the go-faster TT and triathlon market, Elitewheels have also launched the Velo Six II, the next generation of its six-spoke carbon wheelset.

Designed for road, TT, and triathlon riders, the Velo Six II delivers "major upgrades in aerodynamics, stiffness, and responsiveness while reducing overall weight".

The wheels feature a 50mm rim depth for aero performance and crosswind control, while a wider 21mm internal rim supports wider tires for improved comfort and grip.

Most impressively, Elitewheels claim that after a full structural redesign, the new wheels show a whopping 95% improvement in drive-side lateral stiffness and 98% increase in stiffness on the non-drive-side over the previous model. If you've seen any of the reviews suggesting the previous wheels felt a little flexible, this should see such concerns put to bed.

Meanwhile the hubs have been upgraded to a 50T tapered ratchet (7.2° engagement angle) for faster acceleration, again with a self-aligning tooth design to ensure stability, longevity, and reduced wear.

Elitewheels reckon the new Velo Six II are "your ultimate carbon weapon" for attacking attacking a TT course or powering through a triathlon. Weight for the pair is a claimed 1605±50g. And gravel racers, take note: the wheels are rated for tyres up to 43mm wide. Just in case you fancy rocking up to your next Glorious Gravel sportive rolling like a boss...

Gnar XC - Light Power for the Trail

Ready to shred: the Gnar XC is a lightweight carbon wheelset for cross country mountain biking.
Ready to shred: the Gnar XC is a lightweight carbon wheelset for cross country mountain biking.

Why should triathletes corner the market on speed? The Gnar XC is Elitewheels' newest cross-country MTB wheelset, designed for riders who demand agility, control, and strength across technical trails and high-speed climbs.

The rim features an asymmetric, hookless design for ease of setup when running tubeless, and improved lateral stiffness. It's constructed from Toray T700 & T800 carbon, moulded using internal bladder tech for a smooth, wrinkle-free finish.

Elitewheels claim a total wheelset weight of 1320g ±30g. That's exceptionally light for an XC wheelset designed to take a bit of bashing around, although don't get too carried away: exceeding the specified level of Gnar will see your warranty voided, warn Elitewheels.

Like its new TT stablemates the Gnar XC features an Elitewheels Pro Hub with that upgraded 50T star ratchet, alongside tool-free design for easy maintenance and TPI steel bearings ensure smooth rolling in rugged conditions.

The rims are laced using Alpina Ultralite Aero spokes, with 3mm spoke offset to balance tension and enhance overall strength. Quality control includes 16 rounds of stress relief, "guaranteeing a precise and true wheel every time."
