This sportive is to support the work of the Samaritans Aberdeen branch volunteers and help keep the vital helpline going. There are three routes on offer, taking you into the beautiful Aberdeenshire and Moray countryside. All the routes start and finish at Alford Community Campus in the town of Alford which has toilets and showers:
The 25.9 mile Suie Scorpion has 494 m of ascent and takes a route through the rolling farmland hills with a sting in its tail, the steep climb and descent of the Suie.
The 50.7 mile Suie Serpent has 913 m of ascent and snakes up the side of the river Don before heading up into the hills past The Buck before descending past the Tap O Noth to Rhynie then on to Dunnydeer. The final stage is over the Suie and back to the finish.
The 102.4 mile Lecht and Suie Monster has 2084 m of ascent giving fantastic views as it takes a route over the mountains past the Lecht ski resort to Tomintoul. Then it is into whisky country past Ben Rinnes to Dufftown. The route climbs again over Cabrach to Tap O Noth, finishing again over the Suie to the finish.
