Combining the natural beauty of the Chiltern Hills with the romance of The Tour de France, L'Etape UK promises to bring the passion of the Tour to the UK with King and Queen of the Mountain closed road sections, and a festival atmosphere "straight from the Champs-Élysées".

The relocation to the Chilterns means cyclists can enjoy beautiful countryside on the capital's doorstep without the need to negotiate busier urban roads in and out of London.

Penn House and the Chilterns routes are a tried and tested formula for organisers Human Race; in fact, the 2019 L'Etape UK will replace their popular Chiltern 100 Cycling Festival formerly held at the same location and weekend.

The routes will follow the same roads as the popular Chiltern 100 sportive.

Three distances available (Long 161km, Medium 125km, Short 52km), making it suitable for cyclists of all levels.

The Tour de France experience will be seen around the venue and route with official Tour signage, official red Skodas and quality touches at every turn to immerse everyone in one of the biggest sporting events in the world. The famous L'Etape feed stations will be back including products from official nutrition partner, Optimum Nutrition, as well as continued support from moto marshals.

Once over the finish line, riders will receive medals, rehydrate with a complimentary Erdinger Alkoholfrei, celebrate at the Official Fan Park in true French style, and have the opportunity to grab a picture on the Tour de France podium.

Even more Tour de France magic will be brought to life in the Official Fan Park, usually found at the major city stages of The Tour de France. The Park will feature a big screen showing stage 9 live as well as an authentic French food market, entertainment including stunt bikes, Tour de France experiences and much more for the whole family.

Christian Prudhomme, Race Director of The Tour de France comments, "The Tour De France is a truly global event and nothing shows this off better than our L'Etape series. The UK has let cycling into its heart and we are proud to see the legacy of The Tour De France still burning bright in the L'Etape UK Sportive. I am excited to see the event taking the next step to its new home in the Chilterns where the cycling is both challenging and beautiful and look forward to seeing the British cycling family out enjoying it."

Nick Rusling, CEO at Human Race Says, "The Tour de France is the pinnacle of cycling in the world. We at Human Race can't wait to bring its magic to the Chilterns on Bastille Day for what should become one of the great annual days cycling"
