This summer amateur cyclists can soak up the atmosphere left by the world's greatest bike race, the Tour de France, by following in their pedal strokes on the NSPCC Tour of Yorkshire from 19 - 20 July.
The second of two events in the NSPCC Tour of England series puts riders of all abilities in the saddles of the professionals for two days of fully supported riding, with domestiques, lead cars, soigneurs, mechanics, and motorcycle outriders. They will be faced with a challenging yet spectacular route through the Yorkshire countryside, taking in timed climbs of Boltby Bank - described by Simon Warren in his book 100 Greatest Cycling Climbs, as "the hardest route up onto the North Yorkshire Moors" - and Hanging Grimston as well as optional racing on the fantastic new circuit in York.
The 180-mile multi-stage cycling experience is partnered with UK children's charity, the NSPCC. The route takes in both the Yorkshire Wolds and North Yorkshire Moors, as Event Director, James Kemp - whose previous work includes the London Olympic cycling events as well as Prudential RideLondon - put his know-how to good use in providing the best rider experience possible.
Supported by British Cycling and organised by leading cycling events company Ride2Raise, riders will benefit from a comprehensive pre-event programme of training rides and coaching sessions. Riders will be assessed before the event to allow them to be grouped by ability for the tours. They'll also receive a free high quality tour jersey as well as energy bars, gels, and other goodies.

Riders who commit to raising £300 for the NSPCC will pay a registration fee of just £49 and will be guaranteed a free place at the Yellow Jersey Dinner with presentations and special guest speakers. Alternatively, riders can register without a minimum sponsorship commitment for a fee of £169 per individual (£229 including the Yellow Jersey Dinner), and those who raise over £200 for the NSPCC will receive a free commemorative NSPCC Tour of England jersey designed by Ginger & French.
Funds raised from the event will help the NSPCC to protect vulnerable children through its projects and services including ChildLine - the UK's free, confidential 24-hour helpline and online service for children and young people.
The NSPCC Tour of Yorkshire is one of two rides that make up the Tour of England Series, with an earlier event the NSPCC Tour of the South East taking place on 7-8 June 2014.
