Entries for the 2015 Granfondo Stelvio Santini are now open. The Stelvio will take place on 7 June 2015, with riders offered a choice of three routes over 60km, 138km or 151km with up to 4058m of climbing.

Starting in the Italian ski resort of Bormio, the route takes in four major climbs including the legendary Passo Mortirolo (1727m) and a summit finish atop the Passo Stelvio (2758m). This is definitely a sportive that favours the climbers, but all riders of reasonable fitness will appreciate the challenge of a scenic course through northern Italy's mountain country.

In the organisers' words:

"The Mortirolo and the Stelvio are two of the most beautiful climbs in the world that echo with the feats of Fausto Coppi and Marco Pantani. During the Giro d'Italia 2012, a single stage saw the peloton take on both of these legendary climbs for one of the most brutal days of the race. Now for only the third time, the Granfondo Stelvio Santini will allow you to pit yourself against these legendary climbs and follow in the pedal strokes of some of the greatest icons cycling has ever known."

Entry costs 45 Euros, and the price includes an event jersey from sponsors Santini. There's also a limited edition finishers' cap for those who stay ahead of the broom wagon to reach the end on two wheels.
