Following a successful debut in 2024, GRVL is excited to announce the return of Ridge, a one-day cycling event set in the heart of the Chiltern Hills.

Entries are open for the GRVL Ridge sportive set in the Chilterns this September.
Entries are open for the GRVL Ridge sportive set in the Chilterns this September.

Designed for riders who value quality routes, good company, and a proper post-ride reward, Ridge brings people together around a shared love of cycling.

The Ridge will take place on Saturday 6 September 2025. Event HQ is at the Church Farm Café in Aldbury, near Tring.

Two routes are on offer: a 100-mile road option or a 100km gravel course.

Entry to the event includes a downloadable GPX route, a mid-ride feed station served from the Church Farm Café coffee van, and a post-ride BBQ provided by Suave Foods — all included in the £45 ticket price.

In its second year, Ridge "continues to emphasise sustainability, simplicity, and rider experience" say the organisers. In practice this means the emphasis is on getting the essentials right: a great route, good food and post-ride socialising.

Extras like medals and timing chips are dispensed with and the route is unsigned: participants will receive a rider ID card on the day, and will be required to carry their own navigation. Helmets are mandatory, and riders are asked to bring basic tools and spares for self-supported riding.

For those travelling from further afield, GRVL has also provided a list of recommended local hotels and camping options - available on the event web page at grvl.cc/blogs/news/ridge-2025.

Entries are open now at ridge2025.eventbrite.co.uk.
