The Trans Alba Race is a self-supported cycling ride around Scotland.

First held in 2019, the race covers over 1,000 miles and 50,000 feet of climbing as riders follow a set route, self-supported, solo or in in pairs.

With the 2020 and 2021 editions unfortunately cancelled because of Covid-19, the 3rd edition of the race will take place in July 2023.

Alongside the classic 1000-mile route (once again running clockwise) riders can now opt for a shorter, 400-mile route which finishes in Oban.

Sounds good, right? While stunning scenery and an unforgettable adventure is guaranteed, be prepared: self-supported means self-supported! Don't expect your typical sportive feed stops or way-marked routes here: riders are responsible for all their navigation and logistics whilst remaining completely self reliant throughout the event. Simply put - you're on your own!

Think you're ready for the challenge of a lifetime? Visit the Trans Alba Race website for more details, to download a GPX file of the route, and to register.
