Graean Cymru, one of the largest gravel cycling races in the world, is set to return to North Wales as part of the UCI Gravel World Series.

Following an unforgettable second 2025 edition that saw over 1,000 racers from 31 countries take on its stunning and challenging terrain, the 2026 race promises to be even bigger.
Set in the heart of North Wales' wild landscape, Graean Cymru offers riders a 105km course that showcases the very best of Welsh gravel. The route includes a breathtaking loop around Llyn Brenig, followed by a punchy section through Clocaenog Forest on a mix of closed roads and trails.
With 99% of the route on gravel, riders will take on everything from fast, wide fire roads to flowing singletrack — a true test of fitness, skill, and endurance.

Beyond the race, Graean Cymru is a full weekend experience. Riders and supporters can relax in the lakeside race village, enjoy local food and craft beer, take a wild swim in Llyn Brenig, and unwind in the post-race sauna. It's more than just a race — it's a celebration of adventure, community, and the growing global gravel scene.
"Gravel cycling has exploded in recent years, and Wales has some of the best terrain in the world for it," said Graean Cymru Race Director Phil Sears.
"Graean Cymru captures the essence of the sport — stunning landscapes, a challenging course, racing that suits all types of riders and a warm, supportive atmosphere where riders battle it out for a few hours and then share a beer at the end."
Next year's Graean Cymru will take place on the weekend of 5-6 September 2026.
As part of the 2026 UCI Gravel World Series, Graean Cymru gives both elite and amateur riders the chance to qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championships — and to be part of one of the most spectacular gravel races on the planet.
