Entries are now open for the 2019 Tour de Yorkshire Ride. Leeds is host city for the 2019 edition of the popular sportive, which once again will set amateur cyclists the challenge of taking on the same roads as the world's leading professionals on the Tour de Yorkshire race.

2019 will see the latest edition of the Tour de Yorkshire Ride visit Leeds. Taking place on 5th May 2019, the sportive offers riders a choice of three distances: long (123km), medium (79km) and short (50km).

The long route strikes out north towards Harrogate and on to Ripon, before riders turn south towards home. En route they'll face two testing climbs, the first coming at Cote de Greenhow Hill (that's not local dialect; the Tour de Yorkshire still employs French naming conventions in a nod to the visit of the 2014 Tour de France).

The second categorised climb comes just south of Ripon at Cote de Otley Chevin, before a sprint section at Tinshill kicks off the final run in to the finish.

Riders on the medium course will miss the first of those climbs for a slightly easier day of it, while those on the short route can enjoy the festive atmosphere safe in the knowledge that gravity will not be putting them to any particularly strenuous tests.

All cyclists will have the chance to experience the pro finish line before the race passes through later in the day, complete with support from the waiting crowds that helped make Leeds such a memorable host for the 2014 Grand Départ.

Entries are open now, priced £49.50 for the long and medium routes and £45 for the short option.
