King of the Mountains Sportive

The KOM Sportive is one of Scotland’s best-loved road cycling events. Billed as one of the toughest events of its kind in this country it takes riders over some of the highest Cairngorm passes and offers three spectacular routes. As of 2015 the event will be run by Firetrail Events. We are proud to take on a sportive with a fantastic reputation and look forward to building upon this.

In 2015, all entrants will have the chance to win a set of Knight carbon wheels worth £1800 and £500 of Chapeau cycling gear!

The event has run since 2008 under the expert guidance of the Deeside Thistle Cycling Club(DTCC). The DTCC was founded in 1948 and has grown to over 550 members making it one of the biggest cycling clubs in the UK. A comprehensive racing programme, often including National Championships, is promoted annually, and racing men and women from the club are respected throughout the country and have competed at all levels from club events to the Olympics. The club has long supported mass participation events, which have catered for all cyclists from the very young to veterans, and all standards from novice to expert.

The KOM Sportive was born from this philosophy of cycling for all.
