Introducing a major new closed road cycling event for the UK – Vélo Essex!

Starting and finishing in Hylands Park near Chelmsford, Vélo Essex will provide 15,000 cyclists with a truly unmissable opportunity to ride through some of the UK’s most picturesque cycling countryside on fully closed roads.

Featuring a spectacular 100 mile route that retraces the legendary 2014 Tour de France Stage 3 route along with a shorter 50 mile route, it’s the perfect opportunity for you to set yourself an epic end of season goal and put your summer fitness to the test! Located just a 10 minute drive from Junction 28 of the M25 and under an hour from London – it’s incredibly accessible from the South East and further afield.

Also featuring a Free Family Ride and a Festival of Cycling within Hylands Park throughout the weekend, Vélo Essex offers something for everyone – from first timers to seasoned sportive riders.
