Break The Cycle Sportive

Now in its fifth year, the Break The Cycle Sportive offers sportive enthusiasts the chance to ride a challenging 110-mile course starting at one of three rugby clubs: Bath, Bristol and Gloucester.

The Break The Cycle Sportive grew significantly in 2014 with over 170 cyclists of all abilities (including the whole Bristol Rugby First XV squad!) taking part in the 1-day challenge.

Break The Cycle has proven to be a vital source of funding for the Foundation during tough financial times and last year funded our fantastic Future Stars rugby and multi-sport programme for over 15,000 young people throughout the Bristol area.

This year, we are delighted to be joined by old friends and rivals, Bath Rugby Foundation and Gloucester Rugby on Break The Cycle. When you sign up, you can choose which Foundation you would like to support with riders starting and finishing the Break The Cycle course at their home Club.

Whether you are new to cycling or a regular sportive rider; whether you would like to support a local charity or looking for a Corporate team building challenge; or if you fancy the challenge of cycling 110 miles in 1-day with a team of friends Break The Cycle is for you!

Start Time

If you are riding for Bristol you start and finish at Ashton Gate, if you are riding for Bath for start and finish at The Recreation Ground and if you are riding for Gloucester, you start and finish at Kingsholm. All grounds open at 6.30am with riders leaving from 8am onwards, on Sunday 14th June 2015 and you will be able to register and collect your tag for your bike.

Parking

There is ample free parking for you at all three grounds, so feel free to leave your vehicle there for the day.

Fuel Stops

There will be fuel stops approximately every 25 miles - we recommend that you stop to refuel on energy drinks/water and eat energy bars/bananas that are all supplied for you.
