The Black Shuck Sportive returns: can you keep the the beast of the North Norfolk Coast line at bay?

As local legend has it, a huge black hellhound roamed the North Norfolk coast bringing death to any poor soul (cyclist) that happened to meet it! The secret of surviving an encounter with this hound was to not stop cycling.

With the history lesson over, this cycling event aims to get everyone back to the event centre around 6pm for a BBQ. Held on a Saturday, the Black Shuck Sportive gives you an extra day to rest your legs before returning to work and school on Monday.

There are three routes of approx  28 - 30 miles each + a family friendly route of up to 10 miles to get the under 16s and their families out on their bikes. The family route has been designed to have low traffic, not too many hills and also be rewarding. Best of all you get a brilliant medal to show off to your friends.

The routes have a very good mix of beautiful countryside rolling hills and unspoilt views.

The Thursford Collection will host the feed-zone, which again will be the normal Norfolk Cycling Events  high standard. Lots of food and drink!

This is very much a family-friendly event so if your family doesn't ride they can come along and use the outdoor adventure play area and join you for the post-ride BBQ.

The Thursford Collection will provide their 'posh BBQ'  and their bar will also be open. Norfolk Cycling Events will be selling fresh coffee, tea and home made cakes.
