Rapha have unveiled their 2022 kit designs for Team EF Education First men's and women's teams.

Launched with a photoshoot from Girona where the teams are currently training, the new design sticks to the familiar pink of recent years - with a fresh graphical twist.

The pattern is a nod to the Argyle print associated with the team since way back in the Garmin-Sharp days (remember when David Millar, Phil Gaimon and Dan Martin were team mates?).

This season is the first time women's team EF Education-TIBCO-SVB will line up wearing Rapha, as EF Education First join TIBCO and Silicon Valley Bank as co-title sponsors of the longest running women's team in North America.

"Both teams will compete in a kit of the same design with a subtle colour variation," say Rapha.

"The new design, executed through creative coding and image/pattern manipulation, is a modern interpretation of the Argyle pattern that has been a staple part of EF's visual language for years."

As well as wearing the kit in the WorldTour, riders from both teams will again take part in a number of events elsewhere in the cycle racing calendar as EF continues to break boundaries with its alternative calendar.

In past years this has seen riders take on gravel races and multi-day endurance rides; last year, Lachlan Morton rode the Alt Tour, bikepacking the entire route of the Tour de France (including transfers) and managing to beat the pro peloton back to Paris.

The teams' 2022 exploits will be shot by Rapha's in-house media team for a new series of films celebrating cycling's characters and stories.

And of course, the return of the pink means we can expect another change-out kit for this year's Giro d'Italia. The team's 2020 Giro kit, in collaboration with skate brand Palace, was one of the most bizarre - and collectible - kits of all time.

Fingers crossed for a return of those duck-emblazoned TT helmet...

The new kit will be available to purchase from the Rapha website in Spring.
