Entries for the RideLondon 100 sportive open today at 10:00am.

After a two-year break the UK's biggest closed-road sportive returns on 29 May 2022 with a brand new route in London and Essex.

Unlike in past editions, the first 10,000 entries will go on general sale rather than via a ballot.

Entries open at 10:00am today at www.ridelondon.co.uk.

Another big change for the revamped Ridelondon is the course. After seven years Surrey County Council decided not to continue hosting the event, meaning cyclists will no longer parade through the leafy lanes which made icons of climbs like Box Hill.

Instead, organisers are partnering with Essex to host the new course.

Details of the route are set to be announced in early 2022, which organisers have said will "start and finish in the centre of the capital, with 60 miles of rolling roads through some of Essex's most beautiful countryside and villages in between."

With two years of pent up demand coupled with a resurgence of interest in cycling during the pandemic, we've no doubt this event will sell out fast.

Entries for 2022 are priced £89.

Once the first 10,000 places have gone, remaining entries will be allocated via a ballot which closes at 17:00 on Thursday 20 January 2022.
