This morning saw the relaunch of the first batch of vouchers in the goverment's Fix Your Bike scheme.

And, just a few hours after re-opening, it would appear that all 50,000 vouchers have been snapped up.

The message greeting visitors to the application portal says:

"There are no vouchers available right now. Vouchers are being released gradually to reflect the capacity of the bike repairers signed up to the scheme. More vouchers will be made available as soon as possible."

The initial launch of the scheme on Tuesday night saw a surge of applications overwhelm the website, which was temporarily unavailable due to demand.

Those who did manage to access the application form will have found it a simple procedure.

Applicants are required to provide basic details about the bike they wish to have repaired - including brand and colour - and provided with a map showing registered repair shops local to them.

Up to two vouchers can be claimed per household.
