The route for the 2015 Etape du Tour has been revealed this morning at the official launch of next year's Tour de France. As expected the course will see riders tackle a mountain stage, with the highlight being an ascent of the Col de la Croix de Fer at over 2000m.

The 2015 Etape du Tour will take place on Sunday 19 July. The route is the same as the pros will ride on Stage 19 of the 2015 Tour de France. Riders take on a 142km course starting in St-Jean-de-Maurienne and taking in three major climbs before a summit finish in La Toussuire.

The high point (literally) of the stage is an ascent of the 2067m Col de la Croix de Fer, which comes near the midway point, 62km into the course.

Entries for the 2015 Etape du Tour will open at 9:00 am (08:00 UK time) on Thursday 6 November. Registration is via the official Etape du Tour website: www.letapedutour.com.
