Velusso Devil Ride: Mont Ventoux - Alpe d'Huez

Why the Devil’s Ride? Well honestly who else would come up with this ride. It’s total madness – covering 265 km and 7200 m of incline over the route from Mont Ventoux to Alpe d’Huez.

Starting in the early hours climbing Ventoux, then ride ride ride until you reach Alpe d’Huez to finish. Easy as that!

The ride is partly supported with feedstations and vehicles for riders’ day bags, water and spares along the route, but you’ll be riding your own pace and will need to be self sufficient for mechanicals. The route is not fully signposted but each entrant will receive the GPX file and route sheet.

The route chosen for The Devil Ride was first created by Scott Burgess in 2015, who brought friends together in London to take on the ordeal. Two riders fell asleep during their ascend of Alpe D’huez, all in aid of The Harrison’s Fund, a charity well backed by one of the initial Devil Ride riders Will Jackson Moore, who recently completed the route used in the 55th edition of the Tour de France in 1968.
