Ultimate Yorkshire brings you a new kind of Sportive for 2023, a premium event for the discerning cyclists. Some of Yorkshire’s finest roads (and hills) along with a prize-winning flying lap at the Boddington Circuit at the Brownlee Centre in North Leeds and the one thing many try to do at the end of the ride, a sprint finish for the last 400m - again with a cash prize at the end.
We want you to have your best day on a bike in 2023 with us at this new style of event and we have put many things in place to assure that this happens. As a 100-mile route, with racing at the 63-mile point and at the finish it’s important to stay properly fuelled and not burn too much energy up before you get to the track, so we have made sure there is plenty of rest stops and fuel stops along that route.
The track flying mile can be done individually or as a team of 4, you’ll get half a lap warm-up ready to hit the start line at speed before putting in a full mile at maximum effort. All riders will be ranked in age/gender categories, but prizes will be awarded like this:
Fastest Male, Fastest Female, Fastest Male Team, Fastest Female Team and Fastest Mixed Team
Prizes for the above are:
1st £300
2nd £150
3rd £50
For the team race, the clock starts when the first person crosses the start line and finishes when the third person crosses the finish line.
The Sprint Finish will be from the gates into the Racecourse and over the finish line itself, with a £100 prize for fastest male and fastest female.
Once back at the finish get your medal, t-shirt, burger and beer created especially for the event by Harrogate Brewery.

At 68 Miles, you reach the Brownlee Centre, home of the Boddington Cycle Track, a 1 mile cycle circuit that’s guaranteed for some fast speeds. There’s half a lap warm up to get your speed up down a slight descent before hitting the time start point, from there you’ve got a mile to put in your best efforts to beat the clock (and everyone else)
The timed lap can be done on an individual basis or as a team of 4. Everyone taking part will be ranked at the end of the day so you will know how you fared overall and by age/gender category, will you be first?
The team lap starts when the first rider in your team crosses the start line and the clock finishes when the third person crosses the finish line, so you can ’sacrifice’ a team member used to lead the rest out should you wish.
