*Cancelled* Tour of Wessex

The Tour of Wessex 2020 has been cancelled because of coronavirus.

Originally scheduled for the weekend of 23 May, oganisers Earth Sports had proposed a new date of 29-30 August 2020 but unfortunately have had to cancel the event entirely. Entrants may transfer to the 2021 edition or claim a refund minus £20 admin fee.

The Tour of Wessex is the biggest multi stage cyclosportive in the UK. The cycling cognoscenti have been making the annual pilgrimage to Somerset since 2006 to experience the challenge of riding three days back to back while enjoying West country hospitality, and the exceptionally fine food & drink.

And for 2020, the organisers are introducing the Wessex 24 hour: a single-stage 328-mile ride for endurance racers that will run alongside the three stage cyclosportive. Both events offer live tracking, so friends and family can keep up to date with how the ride unfoldes. Tracking will be managed from the Tour of Wessex event app which will be launched in January 2020.

A West Country Classic

Expect quintessentially English countryside though the lanes and byways of the South West. Each individual stage has its own unique mix of monuments, history and challenging terrain which sets it apart from other events; add the challenge of riding three days back to back and you have truly unique event. Choose from 324 miles, 221 miles or ride an individual stage which each have a choice of two route distances.

Each stage starts and finishes at Huish Episcopi Academy which provides outstanding facilities including free access for riders to the swimming pool, along with on-site cafe and cinema.

Route highlights include: Cheddar Gorge, Stourhead House and Alfreds Tower, Somerset Levels Nature reserve, Corfe Castle, Jurassic Coast, Milton Abbas, Cerne Abbas Giant Hill Figure, Exmoor National Park and the Quantock Hills ANOB.
