The Surrey Grumble (GRMBL) is a Twickenham CC organised 'Gravel Sportive' event. It takes place on out and back loops from event HQ at Downside Village Hall. There are three route options which split. Riders can do any route and change on the day.
Curated Challenging GPX Routes (about 56, 63 & 69km) that are significantly off-road.
Free feed stop included.
GPX provided with Twickenham CC 'support' riders will ride the course to provide assistance if needed.
There is no parking at HQ, nor around Downside Village Green / Common.
Closest parking at Holly Hedge car park Cobham.
Event HQ Start & Finish @ Downside Village Hall, Cobham, Surrey.
With coffee, cake, sandwiches and other refreshments available to buy at event HQ before and after the ride.
Please note no bikes allowed inside the Village Hall.
This friendly event is managed and run entirely by Twickenham CC members.
Building on the success of the early season Surrey Rumble (also run by Twickenham CC) this is expected to be very popular, due to its friendly atmosphere and reasonable price, compared to many Gravel events.
PROVISIONAL Start (tbc): First rider: 08:00; Last rider: 10.00; Event close: 15:00 - 16:00
Speed will be course condition (and fitness) dependent. Ideally Long Route riders should leave no later than 09:00.
The last rider leaving at 10:00 has five/six hours to complete their chosen route. Remember to allow for stops.
