Why not make 2019 the year you do something different, something you'll never forget?

At midnight you’ll set off from the iconic Old Trafford Cricket Ground and take on a 52 mile Lancashire route, heading for the glow of the Blackpool sea front, where the world famous illuminations will be switched on exclusively to welcome you across the finish line.

While others are tucked up in bed, you'll be putting your mental and physical endurance levels to the test on this unforgettable challenge. It'll be hard work but as you cycle up Blackpool Promenade, under the dazzling lights and cross the finish line in time to watch the sunrise over the sea, safe in the knowledge you've just completed a tough challenge in order to help save lives, it will all feel worth it.

This event is ideal for those who haven’t taken part in many cycling events before. The largely flat route and quiet roads make the challenge an achievable one whilst the amazing atmosphere and illuminations in Blackpool will allow you to see for yourself just how much fun can be had on two wheels.

On top of this, you will be supported the whole way. A fully signed and marshaled route, first aid and mechanical support, refreshment stops and the support of an experienced BHF team mean that all you have to do is sit back, pedal and take it all in.

You must be over 18 to take part and if you sign up before 31st August you can take advantage of an exclusive Manchester Evening News discount of 67% off the entry fee by visiting bhf.org.uk/men

Due to a lack of public transport around the times of this event, the British Heart Foundation will be running travel services - bringing participants and their bikes from Blackpool to Manchester both before and after the ride. Tickets will be available shortly from the event page bhf.org.uk/m2b

And remember, it’s not a race, it’s about taking part and conquering a challenge to help fund life saving research into heart disease. By taking part in the Manchester to Blackpool Night Ride, you will be helping the British Heart Foundation lead the fight against heart and circulatory diseases – which is the cause of more than a quarter of all deaths in the UK today. It’s only through research that the British Heart Foundation can achieve its vision of a world where people do not die prematurely or suffer from heart disease.
