Welcome to Le Petit Depart - a cycle event celebrating the very best cycling the Yorkshire Dales has to offer and of course following in the wheels of the spectacular 2014 Tour de France: Grand Depart and the 2019 UCI World Championship Road Races.  Le Petit Depart will follow the same route north of Skipton as these races.

NEW - Starting from Skipton, Le Petit Depart offers FOUR fantastic routes to cater for all abilities.

The NEW 100miler and the original classis 80 mile Sportive Ride follows much of the Tour de France stage 1 and 2019 UCI Workld Championships route taking you over 5 climbs and along 6 dales. From the head of Wharfedale the route goes over Kidstones, the first official climb of the 2014 Tour de France. It continues along the Wensleydale to Reeth, before returning to Skipton via the impressive Ribblehead viaduct, the quaint market town of Settle and the lovely Malhamdale. The route returns to Skipton via scenic villages and fast run back into town.  The 100miler adds on the best bits of Wharfedale with riders topping up at Linton feedstop, heading down to Burnsal, Barden Tower, Bolton Abbey before ride over to Addingham, up Cringles and then dropping back down into Skipton.
