Route details have been announced for L'Etape Ireland, a new sportive in the L'Etape series by Tour de France.

Taking place on 7 September 2024 in Killarney, County Kerry, L'Etape Ireland will offer riders a choice of two distances.

The long route is 135km with 1621m of climbing, while the shorter option is 98km with 1148m of elevation gain.

Riders on the long route will be released in three waves starting at 7:30am, then 7:45 and 8:15. Riders on the short course will follow at 8:30.

The event will begin with a 3km neutralised start behind motor cars through the streets of Killarney, before the official timing starts at km zero on the outskirts of the town.

There will be two timed King/Queen of the Mountains sectors at Molls Gap and Ballaghabema, and a 1.2km sprint section at Fossa.

Overall timing and entry into the sprint and climber classifications are included in Silver and Gold entry, while a less expensive Bronze entry package is also available which includes overall timing but not entry into the KOM/sprint competitions.

Entry prices for the long route are: Gold VIP €355 , Silver €149 and Bronze €109.

Places on the short route are priced €345 for Gold VIP, €139 for Silver and €99 for Bronze.

All packages include full safety and medical assistance, mechanical support, food & refuel stations, closed or partially closed roads, an Official L'Étape medal, post event pasta party, and access to L'Étape information nights.
