June 1st 2024 sees the return of Rebound Gravel - a DIY cycling event that challenges cyclists worldwide to create their own gravel cycling adventure.

The goal is to ride a total of 10 million miles, and the event is free of charge. To take part, just create your route, register it on the rebound website and ride on June 1st.

Everyone who takes part will be in with a chance to win great prizes - including entry to Unbound in Kansas.

Rebound 2024 is the brainchild of Live Slow Ride Fast, a cycling clothing brand founded by pro gravel cyclist Laurens Ten Dam. This year's event sees LSRF team up with online training providers JOIN Cycling, in partnership with Strava and Shimano.

The event was founded as an alternative to the world-famous Unbound gravel race (formerly the Dirty Kanza) as a virtual event "to celebrate, connect, and ride together."

The focus is on adventure, community, and sustainability, and Rebound Gravel 2024 offers cyclists of all levels the opportunity to embark on a self-supported gravel ride on a route of their own design and ambition.

Unlike traditional cycling events, participants can start from any point they choose and chart their own course through scenic landscapes and difficult terrain.

The event offers cyclists a fully flexible way to participate: riders can choose from various distance options, including 15, 25, 50, 100, or 200 miles (25, 40, 80, 160, or 320 kilometers), allowing all entrants to tailor their experience to their skill level and personal preferences.

It's a self-supported adventure: there are no feed stations or mechanical support, instead participants will embark on a self-supported journey, carrying their own supplies and navigating their chosen route with the help of GPS devices or route planning tools like Strava.

While there may not be finishers medals, there are prizes! Riders completing their Rebound Gravel route are eligible to win hundreds of prizes from Shimano, Live Slow Ride Fast, Skoda, and an entry into the sold-out Unbound gravel event in Emporia, Kansas.

It's not a race: there are no prizes for riding fastest, it's just for fun. Unlike traditional races, Rebound Gravel 2024 has no entry fees or time limits, emphasising the joy of cycling and exploration over competition.

"Rebound Gravel 2024 is not just a cycling event; it's a celebration of adventure, community, and the beauty of the great outdoors," said Jim van den Berg, CEO of JOIN.

"We want to get as many people out on their bikes on the most unexpected terrain in order to showcase the joy and excitement that can come from being the best rider you can be on the most adventurous terrain you can find."

"I've ridden my bike all over the world and, when it comes to challenging off-road rides, there's nothing better than the routes in your own backyard," said Laurens ten Dam, pro gravel cyclist and owner of Live Slow Ride Fast.

"We invite cyclists of all backgrounds to join us on June 1st for an unforgettable day of exploration and camaraderie."
