Cycling shoe brand Quoc has launched the Lalashan Collection, a range of brand new footwear inspired, they say, by some mushrooms they found in a forest.
So far, so trippy - but if you're expecting psychedelic weirdness, rein in those expectations: the influence is more subtle than that, with organic patterns and fungi-derived pastel shades featuring across the range's new road, gravel and leisure shoes.
The range is named after Northern Taiwan's Lalashan Mountain Range "and the abundant mushrooms discovered there" say Quoc.
The collection features fungi-derived pastel colours in the form of dusty pink and amber models, as well as organic patterns in the detailing such as the breathable air holes of the shoe.
"In addition to forming the aesthetic inspiration behind the range, nature pervades every aspect of the collection," say Quoc. "The philosophy underpinning the collection was to introduce a selection of terrain-adapted shoes that each facilitate a continuous return to the great outdoors."
The launch introduces four brand new models to the Quoc range. The Escape Road and Escape Off-Road shoes are designed for adventure rides, with a focus on durability and an accessible privce tag without compromising on quality.
Also launching is the Gran Tourer XC, billed as a high performance cross country adaptation of Quoc's best selling Gran Tourer range.
The GTXC features a carbon composite midsole, integrated TPU tread and dual dial closure.
Meanwhile, taking care of the post-ride party side of things is the Lala Slide, QUOC's first entry into lifestyle-led athleisure. Featuring premium microfibre straps, a lightweight, regenerative footbed and a grippy sole, the Lala is available in a choice of three colours.
