The first edition of Velo Kenmare takes place on Saturday 22 October 2022.

The sportive is organised by Elite Event Management, the same team behind some of Ireland's best known sportives including The Ring of Beara Cycle, Ride Dingle, and the Wicklow 200.

And, with the new event based in their home territory, you can be sure they've created a gem of a route.

Starting in Kenmare, the 135km course takes in seven main climbs totalling some 1700m of elevation. Four of the climbs are categorised, with rider times up Molls Gap, Ballaghbeama Pass, Ballaghasheen and Commakista counting towards a Kom and Qom competition on the day.

Aside from spectacular mountain scenery, riders can look forward to a fully signed route with mechanical and medical support, two feed stations. Music, entertainment and a hot meal await at the finish.
