It might only be the second biggest event in Windsor this year but, for cyclists at least, the return of the Red Bull Timelaps race is possibly even more exciting news than a certain royal wedding.

Taking place in Windsor Great Park on 27th-28th October - that's the weekend the clocks go back - Red Bull Timelaps will see riders tackle the 6.6km closed circuit for a whopping 25 hours, making it the world's longest one-day road cycling race.

Riders will race in teams of four, and extra emphasis will be put on the 'Power Hour', which takes place at 2am when the clocks shift back. Here riders take on an extended shorter course with laps counting double, and this is where strategy and tactics come to the fore: you'll want your night owls primed and caffeinated for this vital hour!

The race will once again be held at the beautiful Windsor Great Park, situated just outside of London, with well-surfaced, undulating and traffic-free roads providing optimal conditions for round-the-clock racing.

Entries for Red Bull Timelaps open today at 10am, with team entry costing £250 and £200 for an under 25 team. There will be 800 entries available, for a total of 200 teams battling it out for bragging rights.
