If you're planning on riding a sportive this weekend, it's worth checking with the organisers that it's still on. The sun may be shining today (at least on the south coast), but adverse weather forecasts for the weekend have seen sportives across the UK postponed or called off.
Here's a list of the ones we know about:
Saturday 17th March
- Brewin Dolphin Wye Tour - possibly still on (check event website/emails for updates).
- Evans Cycles Ride It Leeds MTB - cancelled.
Sunday 18th March
- Battle of Bradfield - postponed. Organisers will contact riders with new date.
- Richardsons Rumble - postponed. New date: Sunday 8th April.
- Meon Vale Spring Classic - postponed. New date: Sunday 8th April.
- Burgess Hill Springtime Classic - postponed. Organisers will contact riders with new date.
- Evans Cycles Ride It Road Sportive and Sportive Cross - cancelled.
- Ware's Cambridge? - postponed. New date: Sunday 25th March.
- Startline Rutland - cancelled.
The list makes bleak reading, with every sportive except for the Brewin Dolphin Wye Tour (at time of writing) called off.
There is one bright spot amid the clouds though - this weekend's GFNY Uruguay sportive is ON. Online entries closed on Wednesday, but on-the-day registration is possible, albeit at a punitive price of $250.
Looks like another weekend on Zwift then... See you there.
