We've survived Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and today it's Cobbles Tuesday as entries for two of Europe's classic sportives open. Registration for the 2016 editions of the Paris-Roubaix and Liege-Bastogne-Liege Challenges is now open, offering cyclists a chance to ride the iconic route of these two notoriously tough Spring Classics the day before the pro races.

First up is Paris-Roubaix on Saturday 9 April 2016. Starting in Busigny, the 163km long course takes in a succession of cobbled secteurs including the fabled Arenberg Forest and Carrefour de l'Arbre. The full distance is ideal for hardened cyclists looking for a severe test, but shorter 139km and 70km courses are a good choice if you'd like to sample the flavour of the race while keeping something in the tank to cheer on the pros the next day.

Two weeks later on Saturday 23 April it's Liege-Bastogne-Liege, where the full distance is a staggering 273km with 4500m of climbing. Again, shorter routes of 156km and 75km are also on offer if you're still finding your early season form.

And of course, you'll want to stay around to watch the pro peloton take on the same course the next day - the atmosphere at the Spring Classics is second to none as passionate locals line the route, whatever the weather, to cheer on their heroes.

The Spring Classic sportive challenges are run by ASO (organisers of the Tour de France) and offer exceptional value for money, with entry to the full-length course starting at €40.

For both rides, an earlybird price is available when you register before 15 January, saving €15 over the price of entry on the day.
