White Rose Classic

The White Rose Classic is Yorkshire’s premier sportive for road cyclists. Join us on Sunday 3rd July 2022 for another epic adventure in the Yorkshire Dales with support from the all-volunteer, Ilkley Cycling Club-run Event.

You’ll be riding on some of the roads and possible tackling some of the climbs that the pro’s did when the Tour de France came in 2014. Since then, the Tour de Yorkshire has become an annual event for pro racers, in 2018 Stage 2 featured a decisive uphill finish on the famous Cow & Calf in the White Rose Classic’s home town of Ilkley. 

In 2019 the World Professional Road Racing Championships were held right in our back yard where the Women’s elite race included going up Norwood Edge.

There are three routes of different lengths. Choose the route that matches your experience and goals. Each one of them features the opportunity to enjoy magnificent Yorkshire Dales scenery.

Whichever route you take, when you ride the White Rose Classic, you earn the right to enjoy our Yorkshire-style hospitality. Each of our three feed stations features homemade sandwiches and other culinary treats. We do everything we can to make sure you have the energy you will need to keep you going all the way to the finish back in Ilkley.

The White Rose Classic routes tackle a total of seven named climbs – and innumerable bumps and hills along the way. But you get to choose how challenging a ride you make it – from a leisurely day out in the Yorkshire Dales to a challenging epic demanding all your strength and experience.
