Ware’s Cambridge? has been one of the most talked about Sportives of recent years, we’ve decided to apply some of that magic to Essex. Ware’s Essex? will take place on Sunday the 3rd of October 2021.

We’ve designed this route so that you’ll be able to take advantage of some of the great roads that the 2013 TDF took in and experience some beautifully tarmacked surfaces. Whatever the weather throws at us, this route is made for the beginning of Autumn, keeping your motivation high for the coming months.

The Last Century of the Season

With the autumn months fast approaching, SportiveUK have come up with the perfect way for you to get your last big bike ride on the clock. Whether it’s the Long 100 or the short 40, there’s something for everyone looking to keep those legs moving. Don’t fancy the full Essex 100 loop?  There’s the medium distance of 70 miles that will take you as far as Finchingfield, you’ll be able to tuck into the home made flapjacks, cheeses and crackers. There’s even a fun 15 if you’re not quite up to the 40.

All routes start and finish at Ware, Hertfordshire, where you’ll head out North east through the picturesque villages, and then onto sweeping countryside roads of rural Essex. The fast rolling roads of the 100 will take you out towards suffolk, coming within 5 miles of the county town of Sudbury.

To provide a Covid secure environment entries will be capped and masks are to be worn at every point in the event when not riding.

Extra provisions will be put in place at HQ and at feed stations to ensure relevant government guidelines are adhered to, whatever they may be at the time of the event.

Feedstations will be monitored closely to ensure that only riders on the sportive are using them. Rider numbers will be checked and participants given ID stickers for their helmets.
