Starting from Plumpton College in the heart of the South Downs, we’re ideally situated for a great day in the saddle. Straight away we head up, climbing to an impressive ridge line above the valley. Quick descents and zig-zag climbs follow as we head towards Devils Dyke and Truleigh Hill. After refuelling at the YHA we’re back onto the South Downs Way heading back towards event HQ. As the event centre nears, Long and Endurance riders continue past towards Lewes. More ups and downs follow as we navigate the trails around Balmer Down and Woodingdean. Those taking on the Endurance distance branch off at the 35 mile mark to enjoy a long descent to the coast. A challenging ascent awaits both Long and Endurance riders, before a deserved descent to the finish.
