One of the UK's most popular early season sportives, the Hell of the Ashdown - or HOTA for short - features a challenging 100km route through the wintry wilds of Sussex and Kent.

There are 10 climbs along the way and with a total elevation of some 1400m, it's a tough test of form.

Formerly run by Catford CC, in 2022 the baton - or devil's trident - passed to Westerham Cycling Club who continue for 2023.

Riders can look forward to a well established and smoothly run event, with motorbike marshalls among over 50 event staff along the signed route.

Two indoor feed stations at Ashdown Forest and Sevenoaks Weald offer shelter from the weather, and there'll also be street food trucks and a complimentary pint waiting back at Westerham Brewery.

Entries open on 5 November. All 1500 places sold out in less than a week this year, so remember remember to secure your place as soon as the first firework goes off.
