Entries for the 2019 edition of Vélo Birmingham & Midlands are now on general sale. The revamped sportive takes place on Sunday 12 May 2019 and will feature a new 100-mile route - all on roads closed to traffic.

Thousands of riders have already entered next year's Vélo Birmingham, which is set to be the UK's second largest closed-road cycling event after RideLondon with up to 17,000 cyclists of all abilities taking part.

Standard entry costs £79 plus a 6% booking fee, while fast track entries priced £115 are also available. Fast track entrants can have their entry packs posted to their home address in advance rather than collecting them in person the day before the event, and will also set off in the first few waves on the day.

The revised Vélo Birmingham & Midlands route will lead cyclists through the centre of Birmingham and Coventry as well as tackling over 1500m of climbing in the surrounding countryside.

The organisers also recently announced a campaign to increase female participation to 50% of all entrants by 2022, when Birmgham will host the Commonwealth Games.
