"A new team with bold ambitions needs an equally bold kit," claim Rapha, and their newly unveiled kit for the Canyon-SRAM women's team certainly makes a strong first impression.
Canyon-SRAM, formerly Velocio-SRAM, is racing under a new name in 2016 and Rapha have come on board as kit sponsors.
But where previous Rapha pro strips have been overwhelmingly black - think Team Sky and Condor JLT - the Canyon-SRAM kit takes a black base and adds some welcome splashes of vibrant colour, in a design that takes cues from the Rapha's current Pro Team and Souplesse collections.
"This isn't a kit to hide in," reads the launch copy, "but Canyon-SRAM don't want to hide. As the world's fastest prepare to show their racing colours in 2016, we're confident this is just the beginning."
The Canyon-SRAM line-up for 2016 is Alena Amialiusik (blr), Hannah Barnes (gbr), Lisa Brennauer (ger), Elena Cecchini (ita), Tiffany Cromwell (aus), Barbara Guarischi (ita), Mieke Kröger (ger), Alexis Ryan (usa) and Trixi Worrack (ger). The team are currently on a pre-season training camp in Mallorca; you can read a feature on the team's story and ambitions for 2016 on the Rapha website.
The new kit will be available to buy from March 2016, with a men's version slated for launch in 2017.
