The Dragon Ride is one of Britain's most popular sportives and the 2015 event will be the 12th year in which it has taken place.
There are five different distances available for riders, including a women-only event. The longest event is the Dragon Devil which involves 300km of riding and 3,437 metres of climbing (this distance was a sell out in 2014).
New for 2015, the organisers Human Race have announced the Dragon Tour, a three-day cycling event that promises to be a must-do for sportive enthusiasts. Full details will be announced later in 2014, but the organisers have confirmed that this new addition to the Wiggle Dragon Ride will have a very limited capacity and feature a special guest speaker.
All sportives start from Margam Park, Port Talbot, which has been used as the starting point since 2012.
Those doing the Dragon Devil should be aware that there are some serious climbs on this route, including the 'Rhigos' (which is a nearly 11km climb), 'Black Mountain' and the 'Devil’s Elbow' – the Dragon ride’s signature climbs – with the new addition of the 'Devil's Staircase', a climb with a 15% gradient and elevation of 480m.
There are plenty of technical descents on the ride and riders are warned that these are not easy and should be taken with caution.

Entries will be closed the Monday before the rides, unless the event sells out in advance (which the 300km Devil route is expected to).
AGE REQUIREMENT:
Dragon Devil/Gran Fondo/Medio Fondo: Minimum age 16 at 31 December, 2015; Corto/Cycletta: Minimum Age 12 at 31 December, 2015 (any child under 16 must be accompanied by an adult).
