The Smuggler Sportive is your chance to plunder the hidden gems of North Devon’s two wheeled treasure chest!

The Sportive takes place on Sunday 4th June 2017, starting at The Bike Shed on Barnstaple Square from 7am.

The Smuggler is all about exploring the best Devon has to offer and some of the best roads in the UK - with some great food and a few beers along the way.

Riders will be treated to a grand circumnavigation of the Exmoor National Park which loops, in its longest form, along the coast to Porlock and back via Lynton.

The Smuggler offers three routes of varying lengths and toughness. The 50 and 80 miles options both promise challenging rides taking in a generous lap of Exmoor. For the less daring there’s a more bite sized 40 miler that poses less distance but no shortage of great riding.

Of course, a Smuggler Sportive wouldn’t be complete without our famous Booty Climbs. Challenge yourself to an optional climb that’s punchier than Blackbeard’s grog and you’ll win free drinks and free booty. They’re not for the faint hearted but the rewards, the unique tarmac climbs and the heckling pirates are worth it!

Included in the Smuggler’s entry is a host of great extra goodies. Aside from a unique day out on amazing roads you’ll also be treated to a free breakfast at the start and a free beer at the end. We’ve got free parking, feed stations on course, event photography, mechanical support, full route marking and - as always - the broom wagon in case it doesn’t go to plan.
