Yes half the country is covered with snow, but are you up for a cycling challenge this March?

Challenge 31 is a month-long event, brought to you by British performance sportswear brand ashmei, with the aim of incentivising athletes looking to set and attain personal goals over the course of the month. Ashmei stages Challenge 31 twice a year and offers a 31% reward for cyclists, triathletes and runners willing to put in the miles.

Brave the weather and rack up some miles to score a healthy discount on some ashmei kit.

If you're up for donning your winter gear, a number of challenges are open:

  1. Run ONE mile or Ride FIVE miles every day in March
  2. Run 131 miles (equivalent of five marathons) in March
  3. Ride 531 miles (to honour the iconic Reynolds 531 frame) in March

With the "Beast from the East' on the prowl it's going to take something pretty special to tempt us out, and Ashmei have lined up a reward to make it worth your while. Everyone who successfully completes one of the challenges above will receive a 31% discount code to be used across Ashmei's range of running and cycling gear on ashmei.com.

To enter, pick one of the three challenges above and join the Ashmei Cycle Club on Strava. Then, simply grab a free ticket on the Eventbrite page to complete the process.

At the end of the challenge, having logged all miles via the app - whether it be out on the road and trails or on indoor trainers such as Zwift - participants will be sent a unique code to redeem.

To add a little more motivation during the month, the Chiltern-based sportswear company has organised runs and rides throughout March, including:

  • Week 1: Run 131 miles to support an RAF crew that are running the full 131 miles in the first week
  • Tuesday 13th March: London Run (details TBC)
  • Sunday 18th March: Scottish 10K from Ronde, Edinburgh
  • Thursday 22nd March: ashmei 10km Trail Night Run, Ashridge
  • Saturday 31st March: Surrey Hills Ride - with 60 and 45 mile routes

For further motivation, follow run and ride updates across Ashmei's social channels via the #challenge31 hashtag.
