Italian bicycle manufacturer Passoni and premium British sportswear brand Ashmei have launched a collaborative collection of luxury cycling apparel. Designed to "reflect the highly desirable nature" of Passoni's hand built frames, the range includes performance Jerseys, Softshell Jacket, Bib Shorts and lifestyle T-shirt.
The collection has been finished in luxury fabrics such as Alcantara, MERINO+CARBON and Ultra Stretch Microfibre. Alcantara, which features in Passoni yellow on the trim, is a new one to us: apparently it's a performance material used in Italian thoroughbred sports cars from the likes of Pagani, Lamborghini and Ferrari - while its flame-retardant properties mean it's also used as the seat covering in Formula One race cars.
The capsule collection features six items in all: a long and short sleeve silhouette Jersey in MERINO+ CARBON, a 3 Season race fit Jersey, Merino T-shirt, Bib Shorts and Ultimate Softshell Jacket.
Passoni Sales Manager Danilo Colombo says, "The bikes we create offer cutting edge technology, high quality materials and components as well as a classic Italian style. We think this is perfectly reflected in the beautiful new range of clothing we have designed with ashmei."
