The White Rose Classic is one of the longest running, and most challenging sportives in Britain.  Run by the Ilkley Cycling Club, the event takes place on the longest Sunday of the year, 23 June, only days after the summer solstice.  That gives you plenty of time to ride one of the three distinct event routes into the Yorkshire Dales:

- Grassington Short Route at 48 miles is the perfect challenge for newer riders or those who prefer to enjoy themselves over testing their limits.

- Settle Medium Route takes you into a hidden gem of a dale that people outside the area rarely see. At 85 miles with 6872 feet of climbing it is a serious challenge.

- Hawes Long Route is for those ready to dedicate their day to exploring some classic climbs and remote dales in an epic day out of 120 miles.

But the White Rose is a Classic not only because fo the routes, but also because of the friendly, all-volunteer support from Ilkley Cycling Club. Our feed stations are like no other sportive. We make 1,000 sandwiches and bring some of the best pasteries and other delicacies you are likely ever to get out on the road.

And don't forget: your entry includes a meal and a chance to wind down at the after-ride party with live music, beer, ice cream and a selection of local delicacies. The event is limited to 1,000 riders, so don't miss your opportunity for a wonderful day out Sunday, 23 June 2019.
