Leeds has once again been confirmed as host cityfor the 2020 edition of this popular sportive, which sets amateur cyclists the challenge of taking on the same roads as the world's leading professionals on the Tour de Yorkshire race.
Over the past five years the Tour de Yorkshire Ride has established itself as one of the top sportives in the country, giving riders the chance to experience large portions of the professional Tour de Yorkshire route each year.
2020 sees the introduction of some changes to the routes: 10km have been added to the long route, including two new climbs to ramp up the challenge level. The old favourites are all there including the infamous Greenhow Hill, but this year riders will also tackle a Tour de Yorkshire favourite in the Cote de Cow and Calf, a famous hill finish at Ilkley from the 2018 Tour.
Three routes will be on offer, long (133km), medium (81km), and short (50km), and riders will once again be pushed along the final kilometres by the fantastic support of the spectators lining the roads of Leeds.
Taking in the Yorkshire Dales and what is now known as some of the most iconic cycling in the UK, all three routes promise stunning scenery as well as challenging hills. Riders will be able to test out their climbing legs on the same climbs and compare themselves against the pros who ride them only hours later. Finally sweeping into Leeds, to soak up the electric atmosphere as they cross the finish line in the heart of the city.
Entries are open now, priced £54.50 for the long and medium routes and £49.50 for the short option.
