The Trans Alba Race is a new self-supported cycling ride around Scotland. Now in its second year, the race covers over 1,000 miles and 50,000 feet of climbing as riders follow a predetermined route whilst abiding to seven simple rules:

  1. RACERS MUST RIDE FROM START TO FINISH FOLLOWING THE TRANS ALBA RACE GPX ROUTE

  2. NO DRAFTING (NOT APPLICABLE TO PAIRS OR TEAM ENTRIES)**

  3. ALL FORWARD TRAVEL MUST BE SELF POWERED

  4. ALL RIDERS MUST MAINTAIN EVIDENCE OF THEIR RIDE

  5. ALL RIDERS MUST KNOW, UNDERSTAND AND OBEY LOCAL TRAFFIC LAWS

  6. RIDE IN THE SPIRIT OF SELF RELIANCE & EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

  7. BE NICE!

** pairs/teams may draft however limited to their own partner/teammates only

Sounds good, right? While stunning scenery and an unforgettable adventure is guaranteed, be prepared: self-supported means self-supported! Don't expect your tyypical sportive feed stops or way-marked routes here: riders are responsible for all their navigation and logistics whilst remaining completely self reliant throughout the event. Simply put - you're on your own!

Think you're ready for the challenge of a lifetime? Visit the Trans Alba Race website for more details, to download a GPX file of the route, and to register.
