It's been an eventful start to life in the WorldTour for Yorkshire's rising star Tom Pidcock.

The Ineos Grenadiers rider outsprinted Wout van Aert to win at Brabantse Pijl earlier in April, before a crash saw him miss out on last weekend's Liege-Bastogne-Liege.

And this August, fans will have a chance to ride with one of cycling's hottest talents at the new Tom Pidcock Gran Fondo.

Taking place on 1 August 2021, the gran fondo is run by Struggle Events and offers riders a taste of two of Tom's favourite Yorkshire training loops.

For the fit and the brave, the 180km parcours takes in the notorious Yorkshire climbs of Kidstones and Fleet Moss (from the steep side), before tackling up the lesser known hidden climb of Halton Gill en route to Malham Cove.

With 2430m of climbing, it's a tough day in the saddle and a real test of stamina.

Cyclists looking for a slightly less demanding day out have the option of the 110km route. Enjoy a warm-up along the Wharfedale Valley before heading up the short but challenging climb of Halton Gill.

"At the top you're rewarded with epic Yorkshire views surrounding the beautiful Malham Cove," say the organisers, "before the flat and fast ride back."

With 1423m of climbing it still packs a punch as you test yourself on the terrain that honed Tom's fitness over the years.

Pre-registration is open now, with entries opening on Friday 30 April 2021.

Standard entry is priced £49 which includes feed stations, finishers medals, mechanical support, chip timing and free event photos.

Upgrade to VIP entry for £162 and you can book a slot in the start pen alongside Tom Pidcock, with a complimentary event jersey and musette courtesy of MAAP among other goodies.
