UK Cycling Events (UKCE) are one of the UK's biggest and best established sportive organisers. Their 2021 programme sees a fresh rebrand with 21 events streamed into three distinct series: Classic, Tour and Gravel.

The Gravel Series, as you'd expect, comprises five rides with significant sections of off-road. It launches with two rides in the North and South Downs on 17 and 24 January 2021, followed by a Chilterns edition on 21 February.

With a choice of four distances on offer for most events, ranging from approx 15-80km, it's an ideal introduction to gravel riding for cyclists of all experience levels.

The Classic Series encompasses some of UKCE's well-known road sportives, with rides like the Jurassic Beast and the New Forest sportive. Each ride offers a choice of three or four distances topping out at around 125km.

Finally, there's the Tour Series. These are UKCE's toughest sportive challenges, with the longest course options usually 100 miles / 160km. They are bunched later in the seaon when most entrants will be at peak fitness, and include the South Downs Tour (21 July), the Peaks Tour (5 September), the New Forest Tour (11/12 September) and the Yorkshire Tour (25 September).

As usual from UKCE, routes will be fully signed with free parking, mechanical support, chip timing, GPX files , finishers medals and - new for 2021 - a free beer at the finish courtesy of sponsors Freedom Brewery.

Another addition to 2021 is the inclusion of event photos within the entry price - a great idea - while feed stops will now feature nutrition from sponsors OTE and Jimmy's Iced Coffee.

Buy 5 entries and save 20%

Entries are now open for the 2021 sportive series, and instead of the previous Season Pass UKCE are offering 20% off five entries. This can be your entry to five different events, or five people entering the same event - so long as there are five items in your basket, the discount applies.

As for pricing, there's a flat rate of £40 for the long option across all events, with reduced prices for shorter distances down to £10 for the "Rook" option. On the day entries will also be accepted where places remain, for an additional £5 surcharge.
