Choosing the best tyre for the surfaces that the riders will face on a gravel trail can be far from simple. Pirelli's new Cinturato tyres offer two treads - H (Hard terrain) and M (Mixed terrain) - for both the Cyclocross and Gravel editions.

All four variants feature Pirelli's new Speed Grip compound, which, they claim, eliminates weather variables.

Pirelli staff will be present at the Jeroboam Expo of Erbusco to explain the differences and properties of the new line of Cinturato Gravel & Cross tyres, and to help riders make the most suitable choice.

In addition, all those who sign up for the 75km, the shortest of the three routes of the Jeroboam Gravel Challenge, will have the opportunity to ride together with the Pirelli staff for a truly personalised on-road consultation.

The Cinturato Gravel & Cross line, launched at the beginning of September 2019, offers two types of tyres, in TLR (tubeless ready) configuration: a tyre specific for cyclocross and a tyre ideal for gravel.

Each tyre comes in two versions, with the difference lying in the tread: version H is dedicated to compact terrains, cobblestones and tarmac, while version M is designed for mixed and more difficult terrains.

The tread design is linked to the consistency of the surfaces, with weather taken out of the equation; the new Pirelli Cinturato tyres are purpose-designed to offer excellent performance in both grip and smoothness, independent of dry or wet terrain.

The Cross tyre is available in 33x700c, while the Gravel version comes in five sizes: 35x700c, 40x700c and 45x700c, as well as 45x650b and 50x650b.

The new tyres will be available to buy in October - for more details see velo.pirelli.com.
