Entries have opened for the hotly anticipated 2019 UCI Road World Championships Sportive, which takes place on 22nd September in Harrogate, Yorkshire.
2019 sees Yorkshire play host to the UCI Road World Championships, which return to the UK for the first time in 37 years. And 5,000 fans will have a chance to experience the course at first hand on the official sportive.
Set in the stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Dales, the World Championships Sportive will start and finish in Harrogate and take riders on a journey through the natural beauty of some of the best UK cycling, including large sections of the UCI World Championships course.
There will be three routes, Long 145km; Medium 98km; and Short 72km, suiting all abilities and experience. All routes will ride the Harrogate circuit before any of the pros. The maiden Mixed Relay Team Time Trial will follow on from the sportive, also departing from Harrogate ensuring the sportive will get the classic Yorkshire welcome and support.
On finishing, you can sit back with medal in hand and enjoy the atmosphere of the 2019 UCI World Championships.
How to enter
Organisers Human Race have set up a ballot to allocate entries. The individual ballot is open now at worlds.yorkshire.com/sportive, with entries priced £67.50 for the long and medium routes and 57.50 for the short course. A team ballot is also available for groups of 2-4 riders wishing to take part: if one rider is successful in the ballot, then all team members will be assigned a place.
The ballot is open until 20th March, with successful applicants notified by 4th April.
If you'd like to remove the element of chance, a number of guaranteed entries are also on sale. These are priced £89 per person (plus booking fee) for all routes.
