Proviz, best known for their uncanny Reflect360 jackets that blaze white under car headlights, have launched a new range for Spring/Summer 2018.

The Sportive Collection - that's right, they named it after us - is designed for road cyclists, and eschews the brand's trademark reflective material in favour of soft-stretch fabrics and tailoring that they say allows for maximum freedom of movement and breathability.

Of course, Proviz haven't completely abandoned their roots: strategically placed hi-viz yellow details help you stay seen even on brighter summer rides, without compromising the kit's understated looks.

The range includes a Sportive Convertible Cycling Jacket/Gilet, Sportive Bib Shorts, a both a Long and Short Sleeve Cycling Jersey available in men's and women's versions.

Unzip the sleeves from the Convertible Jacket and you're left with a gilet to keep the core warm.

The Sportive Convertible Jacket (RRP £79.99) is a versatile jacket that easily converts into a gilet when the riding conditions demand a change. Made from triple layered, highly breathable (15,000gm/24hr) and waterproof (7,000mm) four-way stretch fabrics, Proviz say it "provides exceptional comfort and flexibility whilst keeping you warm and dry."

Removable sleeves can be easily unzipped at the shoulders, leaving you with a fitted gilet that makes it a versatile companion, whatever the weather.

No Reflect360 but still plenty of hi-viz detailing in the new Sportive collection from Proviz.

The Sportive Bib Shorts (RRP £49.99) feature an endurance padded chamois provies for comfort on long sportives or training rides. The use of supportive warp-knitted stretch fabrics is designed for breathability, which is good news for anyone sharing the car journey home with you after that epic ride...

On to the jerseys, and both the long and short sleeve versions of the Sportive Cycling Jersey (RRP £44.99 / £39.99 respectively) feature a 140gsm soft-touch polyester mesh that allows the jersey to be soft, breathable and adaptable to a great range of conditions.

The Sportive jersey is available in long and short sleeve versions and can be worn as a base layer in cooler months.

Proviz say they can even be used underneath an outer layer during winter for extra warmth, but during the warmer months you'll be glad of UPF rating of 40+ to help protect you from the elements. The material helps to wick sweat away from the skin and it has an antibacterial finish to help you feel fresher and more comfortable when out on your bike.

Anthony Langly-Smith, co-founder of Proviz, said: "We are really excited to launch this new collection, as it gives a new dimension to our full range. Riders can wear Proviz throughout the year to match the seasons, not just in the darker months. The Sportive Collection has been produced for both casual and serious road cyclists and will allow them to look good whilst staying visible."

It sounds like just the job for the upcoming programme of summer sportives; we'll hopefully get a chance to test some out and let you know how it performs on the road.

In the meantime, the Sportive collection is available to buy now at www.provizsports.com.
